About EdRev

Hey there and thank you for visiting EdRev (Brand Name). It is our honour to have you with us and we believe we have some interesting things in store for you.

EdRev (Brand Name) was started by Mr. Rajdeep Singh (Secret: He Prefers Raj) because he was by every definition of the word a ‘bad student’. From a very young age it was apparent to him that the things that students were being taught in school did not provide benefits in the real world.

For example, (a + b)² = a² + b² + 2ab we as students are asked to memorize such formulas but do they ever benefit you in the real world? Simple answer is a NO!

Rajdeep remained a ‘bad’ student throughout his school years and would often find himself in trouble for not paying attention in class and for not performing on tests.

Until the final semester of Grade XII where he saw the campus photo of The University of Manchester. Rajdeep studied for 3 months and got accepted into The University of Manchester from which he graduated in 2018.

For 2 years Rajdeep spent his time working for his family business and was living a very comfortable life in Dubai, UAE. Rajdeep possessed everything a fresh graduate could ask for from a muscle car (Dodge Challenger R/T) to a luxurious lifestyle in Dubai.

However, he was not satisfied. There was a constant nagging as to why he was a ‘bad’ student and what if he was a ‘good’ student would his life be any better.

After a couple of years of introspection, Raj realised that the problem was not with him but rather with the education system.

In our traditional education system every pupil is taught the same subjects in almost the same way without any regards to individual talents and preferences.

Rather than blaming the education system, teachers and parents Raj decided to become proactive and started working on a solution.

Keeping this in mind Raj was able to understand the difference between education and learning and he has never been the same since.

To disseminate this holistic way of education Raj left all his material possessions behind and came to India.

His return to India was cut short by the COVID-19 pandemic. Raj has a cousin who lives in a very small village in UP and she told him how she had to study on a broken smartphone during the pandemic and despite that ended up getting 76% in her Grade X exams.

This made Raj realise that there are so many students around India that want to study but do not have the resources and the means to study.

He then launched EdRev (Brand Name) with the vision to ensure 100% literacy across India by creating an EdTech platform that allows people the opportunity to not only learn scholastic subjects but also personal development subjects thus ensuring holistic development and a real shot to achieve success in the real world.
